I Don’t Cry For You, Eurabia
#1299 December 7, 2025
President Trump again warned Europe this week it’s courting what BBC says he calls “civilisational erasure,” which, ironically, Europe’s calling for Israel through fatal “two-states.” May Europe wake up and see the common danger of both to Western civilization.
The BBC’s headline Friday cried “Trump Administration Says Europe Faces ‘Civilisational Erasure,” referencing its newly released “National Security Strategy of the United States of America.” The passages in this wide-ranging document to which the BBC was referring included:
“Should present trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less. As such, it is far from obvious whether certain European countries will have economies and militaries strong enough to remain reliable allies. Many of these nations are currently doubling down on their present path. We want Europe to remain European, to regain its civilizational self-confidence, and to abandon its failed focus on regulatory suffocation.” (p. 25) [emphasis added]
And:
“Over the long term, it is more than plausible that within a few decades at the latest, certain NATO members will become majority non-European. As such, it is an open question whether they will view their place in the world, or their alliance with the United States, in the same way as those who signed the NATO charter.” (p. 27) [emphasis added]
I’m no fan of Europe. Over the centuries, every device of ethnic cleansing – pale of settlement, ghetto, Holocaust, Inquisition, expulsion, pogrom – was devised in Good Old Christian Europe, heartland of Western civilization, expressly for Jews. And today European nations are leading the world in howling for “the Two-State Solution.”
And not only that. Britain not only reneged on its role as Trustee of the Palestine Mandate to foster its Jewish national home. With its White Paper of 1939 it held Jews’ arms behind their backs while the world coldly looked on and Germans gassed them. And even after, with Jew-hate still thriving in Europe, it blockaded Palestine against Nazis’ survivors. And it was ok with Britain that the day Israel declared independence, Egypt’s army instantly invaded and marched close to Tel Aviv, but the day Israel’s army set foot in Sinai to expel Egypt from Israel, Britain instantly threatened to intervene for Egypt if Israel didn’t retreat. Alone with Pakistan Britain “recognized” Transjordanian seizure of historic Jerusalem. And today Britain’s howling for a second (in addition to Jordan) Palestinian Arab state, this time inside that part of Palestine in which it had been the Trustee for that Jewish national home.
Among Europe’s first “Two-States” howlers was Norway. Here’s the gist of my receipt-acknowledged but unanswered letter to its U.S. Ambassador. Norway’s foreign minister had said some “settlements” [i.e., “outposts”] were even against Israeli law, and that “then there is the use of Jewish extremists and settler violence to help expand Israel’s hold on West Bank territory.” I wrote the Ambassador that the outposts were “illegal” only in the sense that they hadn’t been authorized, not that Israel regarded them as criminal; that Israel doesn’t need to “use Jewish [which includes me] extremists” to “expand its hold” on what’s Israel’s own lands; that “settler violence” is minimal in the context of the “pay-for-slay” Palestinian Authority; and that that place is and has been for three thousand years “Judea-Samaria,” not the 1950-vintage “West Bank.”
As for the European Union, which is striving to EU us out of historic Jerusalem and Judea-Samaria, here’s its justification for its product labeling rules, which say labels have to say not just “from the West Bank” but to be clear “from the West Bank (Israeli settlement)”: “The West Bank is a territory whose people, namely the Palestinian people, enjoy the right to self-determination.” Multiple times the edict referenced “the West Bank” as “the West Bank, including East Jerusalem” as having “a demographic dimension beyond geographic meaning, since it refers to a population of foreign origin.” Jew baiting? You bet.
I had lunch this week with two pro-Israel friends who couldn’t agree whether Christians or Muslims have over the centuries and today treat us worse. By me, it’s a photo-finish.
So what to make of Trump this week “We want Europe to remain European”? Unlike in Europe over the centuries, an American Jew is both a Jew and American. There is today, was in World War II, and I guess beginning back sometime after 1812, a close friendship and alliance between the U.S. and Britain. So as an American, I was appreciative that the night when President Bush addressed the Congress just after the 9/11 New York towers and Pentagon airplane demolitions, that the foreign leader fortuitously present that night in that hall was Britain’s prime minister. As a Jew, I had reservations.
Undoubtedly it is in Americans’ interest that Europe remain “European” – i.e., peoples of Western civilization. As Trump’s policy statement recognized, “it is an open question whether they [i.e., non-Western-peopled European nations] will view their place in the world, or their alliance with the United States, in the same way as those who signed the NATO charter.”
My hope is that today’s Europeans will wake up and recognize that ripping historic Jerusalem and Judea-Samaria heartland from Israel, shrinking it to a Jewishly meaningless indefensible Jewish national ghetto, is no less a threat to Western civilization than turning Europe into Eurabia.
But, at the bottom line, Israel’s not European, and not just in the sense of not being “settler-colonial.” Its population is majority Mizrahi – Middle-eastern, North African, no less indigenous to the Mideast than Arabians. Judaism is as Mideast in essence as Islam, only a millennium-and-a-half longer. So we have to hope too, eventually, for recognition of that by Muslim Arabs, which I believe is in their own interests too as fellow Mideasterners not always well-treated by others, including the West. Hopefully, the Abraham Accords are a harbinger of that (but not at the fatal cost of “a two-state solution”).
So I think we grassroots American Jews have stakes in the welfare indeed preservation of both the West and Israel. We can best advance this by manifesting our pride in both parts of being Jewish Americans.
Who is the colonist, and who is the settler? No map in Arabic or from the Ottoman Empire designates a place called Palestine. But on European maps of the Middle East, Palestine is designated. Palestinian Araba are from Arabia. Jews are from Judea. The Koran recognises this fact. And as Jerry has repeatedly pointed out, Jews never left Judea and Samaria. Many were expelled or exiled, but there was always a presence. The Arabs did not enter the land til the Arab invasion in the 630s CE. They encountered Jews.
This is not the place to discuss the origin of Palestinian nationalism, but it is a 20th-century phenomenon. But the point here is that the Palestinian Liberation Organisation was started by Ahmed Shukeri, a Lebanese, with the support of the KGB, the Soviet Union secret police, in 1964. Yasir Arafat was born in Egypt, wrestled control away after the Six-Day War.
And in 1964 the Palestine to be “Liberated” by that “Palestine Liberation Organization” was Israel along the perilous 1949 ceasefire lines. 1948 invader [Trans-]Jordan then controlled historic Jerusalem and Judea-Samaria. Jerry
From Myron Sugarman:
Jerry,
Again, this is a most important read and being sent to the 1,800 recipients on my Bcc list, I wish all 1,800 read what you wrote and seriously consider the consequences of Eurabia vs. Europe, how a Eurabia of future will affect both America and Israel, although frankly we don’t have to wait, we are seeing it now, Starmer UK, Macron France, Sanchez Spain, Guterres Portugal (Secretary General of the UN), Ireland, Norway, Belgium,
Yesterday, the son of a very dear friend of mine called me to say hello and tell me he’ll be coming to Jersey in February and wants his chair at our Shabbat Table, he calls me Uncle, as many do. This young man is a contract worker for the United States Government in the anti-Terrorist unit, he monitors “Chatter!”.
We got into the discussion of the two kids from Montclair, New Jersey, whose homes were down the street from where we live and were hell bent on doing serious harm to Jews but were arrested, one right before he could get on a plane to Turkey to join up with Terrorists in Syria. I asked how two young men, sons of Moslem families but living the American Dream in Upper Middle Class America, surrounded by Jewish neighbors who apparently enjoyed good relations, could have been so radicalized?
His answer, one word, Computer! My father of blessed memory used to say that the Telephone was the invention of the Devil, today it’s the Computer, how it effectively radicalizes those wishing to find ways to fill up their lives with some sense of purpose, so brain washed that they don’t understand that the purpose they are pursuing is pure and unadulterated evil.
Jerry, as each day passes, the sand in my Hour Glass drops at a faster speed, it’s telling me that the time left for Jews in Europe already lapsed. It’s telling me that the time left for Jews in America reduced down from 25 years to less than 20.
My writings plead daily with Jews of America, sell now, leave now, make Aliyah. My writings also suggest to Florida, maybe consider secession from the Union
Does anybody have any idea how many Terrorist units are today here in the United States, thanks of course to the millions of un-vetted immigrants allowed in during the Obama administration, which effectively used a Brain Dead Puppet called Joe Biden as its President.
It doesn’t take a Nostradamus to predict that in the very near future, there will be a horrible major attack of major proportions on citizens here in America, most likely Jews, that no matter how much the Trump Government is doing to catch it before it happens, the attack is inevitable. CNN and BBC will blame Israel.
