New Year’s Resolutions for Us U.S. Jewish Grassroots
#1304 January 11, 2026
Last week I stated my 2026 New Year’s Resolution. Here’s my suggestions for yours.
When President Trump counseled us in the wake of December’s Bondi Beach Hanukkah celebration shootings to “celebrate Hanukkah proudly … be proud of who you are,” he wasn’t speaking to the Presidents of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. He was speaking to us, ordinary U.S. Jews, denizens of our grassroots American Jewish street, where all of us live.
New Year’s Eve, I made my 2026 resolution in last week’s #1303 to try and do just that, by continuing these weekly emails seeking to broaden and deepen support among us grassroots U.S. Jews and reachable Christians for our people’s homeland of Israel, and by encouraging You-Who-Put-Up-With-Me-Weekly to join me in manifesting on the various pages of the “Grassroots American Jewish Street” on my website, https://confrontingjewishissues.com/
our pride, as President Trump put it, in who we are.
So, fellow grassrootsnik, I’d have you too Resolve in 2026 to heed our President’s advice and openly manifest your Jewish peoplehood pride. E.g.:
[1] DON’T MOUTH POISONED PEJORATIVES: Don’t mouth yourself the loaded lexicon of pejorative terms expressly designed to poison the American public’s perception of Israel [you know, “1967 borders … West Bank … East Jerusalem … occupation … annexation” and all that], and not just avert your eyes from the media reveling in them.
[2] OPPOSE “TWO-STATE SOLUTION”: Don’t advocate or acquiesce in calling upon Israel to meekly walk out of historic Jerusalem [Temple Mount, City of David and all] and defensible Judea-Samaria biblical hill country heartland and to agree to a sovereign Palestinian Arab state inside the land of Israel, Palestine west of the Jordan, in addition to Palestinian Arab majority judenrein Jordan, sitting on the three-quarters of Mandated Palestine east of the River. Let’s be clear: The land of Israel is historically, legally, equitably and indispensably our Jewish people’s homeland. We have to have it, secure and Jewishly meaningful. The “two-state solution” would render it a nine-miles-wide-in-the-lowland-middle militarily indefensible, Jewishly meaningless Jewish national ghetto.
[3] OPENLY CELEBRATE OUR HOLIDAYS, LIFE EVENTS: Openly celebrate family-oriented Jewish holidays – Pesach, Hanukkah, Purim and more – and email me photos with brief text to post on the website’s Grassroots American Jewish Street in your family’s name.
[4] REGULARLY VISIT AND COMMENT ON OUR SITE: Periodically comment, pro or con, on these weekly emails and on others’ blogs on the site.
[5] READ AN INSPIRING ISRAEL BOOK: Get from Amazon or Abe and read at least one of the gripping inspiring Israel books culled from my and the parrot’s private library summarized on the site and, if the book moves you, leave a comment encouraging reading it.
[6] SUPPORT A TRUE PRO-ISRAEL ORGANIZATION: In addition to expressing our pride in our peoplehood and homeland as individuals and families on our grassroots Street, support a really pro-Israel, pro-Jewish peoplehood organization through membership and participation in its activities.
[7] CONSIDER BLOGGING WITH US: Our “Grassroots American Jewish Street” on our site, confrontingjewishissues.com, is independent of the policies and positions of Jewish organizations. It’s our grassroots Jews’ “street.” There’s room, need, for frank discussion of critical issues confronting us as today’s generation of American Jews. Whether you’re “liberal” or [like me] “conservative,” consider regularly blogging with us. You’d just email me Word docs or email text to post in your name. I moderate comments, not for viewpoint, but abuse. [I need a photo from which I can extract a face shot.]
My best to you all for 2026.
